Vertical Mouse Instructions

The packaging of a ergonomic, “vertical” mouse I bought from Newegg was inadequate. The instructions are inscrutable.

Here’s how the web page says to use it, along with the sales point of “anti-fractured design”, which I believe means there’s strain relief where the USB cable enters the body of the mouse.

The mouse works well. I don’t have to pronate my hand to hold the mouse. Gripping it feels natural. I do use my right index finger on the top button, which is congruent to the left button of an ordinary mouse. I also use my right index finger on the scroll wheel/middle button. I don’t use the ring finger of my right hand for the lower (would be right) button, but rather my right middle finger. I do not use the buttons over the thumb in picture above.

This ergonomic vertical mouse combines the state of the human hand when placed naturally, it can effectively prevent the mousehand, relieve fatigue, reduced theburden on the arm and shoulderpain, which make work more relax.

That is a sentence never before written in the English language. It can prevent the mousehand, that’s good news. Even better, it can reduce theburden on shoulderpain. I haven’t felt these effects so far, but the day’s not over yet.

I have very little clue as to what most of that means. The “secondary sleeping mode” apparently means that 1 our of 10 times I wake up my Macbook Pro, it doesn’t recognize this mouse as being attached and the mouse gets no power.
