Electronic SR Latch
What kind of latch or flip-flop is the best analog to my pair of night lights?
I decided that an asynchronous, SR latch was the closest analog. I built one out of 2 transistors and some resistors and jumpers.

I got the schematic from https://theorycircuit.com/digital-electronics/sr-latch-circuit-using-transistor/

Above, the resulting breadboard. I used 2N3904 transistors instead of BCS547. I used the yellow jumper whose end is visible at the top of the image as a switch. I touched the free end alligator clip to the S or R resistor as desired.

Works like a charm. It’s not clocked, neither was my night light arrangement. Multiple consecutive S or R inputs only switch the lit LED once, exactly like shading one of the night light’s sensor multiple times.
The circuit looks a lot like a 2 LED flasher, and the related astable multivibrator. I’m not wise enough to figure out what this means.
