Do not touch the lamp with wet hand

Got a new desktop lamp from Amazon.

There are so many oddities in the English language instructions. I can only assume the same of the Spanish, German, Italian, French and Japanese instructions.

Almost every sentence in this is a gem of inscrutability.

• The misspelling of “maintenance” as “maintainance” is a classic.
• “high temperature, damp and such dangerous conditions” - ???
• “Do not touch the lamp with wet hand”. Whose wet hands? I’d touch the lamp with my enemy’s wet hand, same as I’d touch a poisonous snake with my enemy’s hand.
• Apparently, there’s only one qualified person at the manufacturer, but luckily, he, she or them are willing to change.
• Similarly, the lamp only has one electrical shock.
• Good to know that such chemicals might cause “discoloration or damage of luminaire”. translate.googole.com guesses that “luminaire” is the French word that translates to “light fixture”. That implies the French instructions got written (or translated) first, and the English came after.
